My father’s half of the family is from Thrissur. He grew up there before moving to Mumbai for work as a scientist at BARC. He retired from service in 2014. My mom has been in Mumbai for most of her life, but she speaks flawless Marathi, Tamil, and Malayalam. Somehow I’ve managed to only pick up one of those so far 🙂
