After pursuing a successful career in law for 20 years at Tenali and 5 years at Hydearabad High court as AGP, he is at present an agriculturist and also the director of Rayalaseema Power Project, Andhra Pradesh. He was unanimously elected as the Sarpanch of the Bodapadu Panchayat (Guntur district) in the year 2001.

Elder sister and Brother-in-law: Sridevi (MBA finance) is married to Dr. Rajeev Buddi (MD ophthalmology). He is a practicing retinal surgeon in North East Wisconsin.
Paternal Grand Parents: Late Mr. Yadlapati Uma Maheswara Rao (Guntur district) (elder brother of Sri Yadlapati Venkat Rao, ex Member of Parliament) and Late Mrs. Sumitra Devi (Krishna district).
Maternal Grand Parent : Late Sri Nunna Rama Rao (Retd. Chief Engineer, CPWD, Delhi) who built national monuments such as Rajghat, AIIMS etc; was a Davis cup player, well-known national tennis champion in India and Late Smt. Nunna Suryakantam (native of W.Godavari district).
