About
Ananya grew up in various cities in western India. In August 2009, she moved to the US for her undergraduate studies and completed her graduate studies thereafter. Much inspired by the TV show Madmen, she began her professional stint in advertising in New York. After spending 8 transformative years as a young adult in the US, where she thrived in a dynamic and diverse environment, she decided to move back home to explore India’s burgeoning marketplace.
This crossover context has made grit, grace, and courage the virtues she holds closest to her heart as she carves out her personal and professional life.
The driving motto for Ananya is ‘keep moving’ and she loves to explore within and outside. - Ananya comes from a nuclear, well-educated, and liberal family. Her family has lived in major metropolitan cities in India over the last 4 decades. As a result of this fluid upbringing, Ananya and her family value curiosity, diversity of thoughts, ideas, and backgrounds.
- Ananya’s father recently retired as a senior bureaucrat in the Indian Government (IRS) and is an independent consultant. Her mother is a retired school teacher turned energy healer.
- Ananya’s siblings live in the United States; her elder brother is a physicist turned climate policy consultant. He earned his Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is married to a biologist who earned her Ph.D. from Harvard University. Her younger sister currently works in public policy in Washington D.C. and earned her master's from Duke University. Ananya’s first cousins earned their Bachelors and Masters degrees in the US and currently live in Washington DC/Boston/New York and enjoy dynamic careers (economist, doctor, changemakers).
